What is Tripindi Shradha Puja?

Tripindi Shradh Puja is an important puja performed in the city of Sri Trimbakeshwar. Tripindi Shradh means the ritualistic shradh of the ancestors of three generations. In these three generations, if a person belonging to the lineage, matriarch, guruvansh or in-laws’ clan has not performed shradh according to the rules, then he attains salvation by doing tripindi shradh.
A person suffers from pitradosh if tripindi shradh puja is not performed. In Pitru Dosh, the dead members of the family curse their descendants which is also known as Pitra Curse.
